Triggers, timing, and Ideal/Infinity/Aspen behavior

Overview

Triggers are based on work order status changes. Timing and scope differ slightly between IDEAL/Infinity and Aspen.

1. Understand scope by DMS

1) In Aspen, triggers look at the entire work order status. In all other DMS’s, triggers look at each job on the work order.

You’ll see one message per work order in Aspen; Other DMS’s send per job.

This affects how many messages a customer receives.

2. Know the send timing

1) When a trigger occurs, the automation waits until the next batch is processed. The rate varies by Automation Type:

Task/Text: Every 30 minutes.

Email: Every 15 minutes

You’ll see the item added to Queue and then process with the next batch.

This buffer lets you correct mistaken status changes.

Tips to Work Faster

– Create automations only for statuses that require customer contact to keep messaging focused.
