We are so excited to share this with you.
TargetCRM has a new look. Almost every screen has been redesigned to be easier to read and easier to use. And along with the new look, we packed in a lot of new features — many of them based directly on things you’ve been asking us for.
Here’s the most important thing to know up front: you’re not losing anything. Every tool you use today is still there. Some buttons have moved. Some screens look different. But everything still works — and in most cases, it works better than ever.
Not sure where to find something? We recorded a full walkthrough webinar just for you. Watch it here:
Let’s take a look at what’s new.
A Fresh New Look Across the App
Almost every screen got a visual update. Panels and filters that used to pop up in windows now stay open on the right side of the screen — so you can always see your list on the left while you look at details on the right.
You’ll also notice that many screens now have a button that says “My [Items]” — like “My Deals” or “My Groups.” This lets you quickly filter the screen to show only the things tied to your account. Great for staying focused on your own work.
Lastly, the menu on the left side of your screen no longer expands to cover a part of your screen every time your mouse gets too close. Now you can control whether you want your menu open or minimized, using the arrow in the bottom left of your screen.
These changes are designed to make TargetCRM faster, cleaner, and ready for some exciting new tools we’re building. More on that at the end.
Your Dashboard Got a Whole Lot Smarter
When you log in, your dashboard now shows you more useful information than ever before.
Here’s what’s new:
- NPS Trend over time. See how your NPS score — the score that measures how likely customers are to recommend you — has changed over the past 12 months.
- Web leads by store. Using the TargetCRM website widget? You’ll now see a count of new leads coming in from each of your locations.
- Text message activity. A new bar chart shows how many messages were sent and received at each store.
- Survey and broadcast use by store. See which locations are the most active.
- Task progress by employee. See who has tasks due, who has tasks overdue, and how fast each team member is getting things done.
All of this is right there when you first log in. No extra clicks needed.
Broadcasts: See How Your Messages Are Doing
When you look at your broadcast list, you’ll now see a details panel on the right side of the screen.
Click on any broadcast — sent or draft — and the panel shows you details, like:
- How many messages were delivered
- How many links were clicked
- How many replies you got
- How many people unsubscribed
- Whether any messages failed to send
This info was always available somewhere, but now it’s right in front of you.
You can also preview, copy, or edit a broadcast right from the list. And when writing a new broadcast, you can send yourself a test text message before it goes out — so you can see exactly what your customers will see.
Customer Details: Everything in One Place
One of the biggest changes in this update is how you view customer information.
Before, customer details opened in a window that covered the screen. Now, they open in a panel on the right side — so you can still see your list on the left.
This works everywhere: the Customer screen, the Messenger screen, and more. If you’re reading a text conversation with a customer in Messenger, you can open their full record right next to it. Switch to a different conversation and the panel updates automatically.
Five Clean Tabs
Customer details are now organized into five tabs:
- General — Name, address, phone number, and contact info. There’s also a new Text button here that lets you start a text conversation with this customer from anywhere in the app.
- Summary — A quick look at their purchase history, past conversations, and tasks.
- Contacts — Any related contacts tied to this customer record.
- Orders & Quotes — A history of orders and quotes (New!) for this customer.
- Owned Units — Equipment this customer has bought or brought in for service.
Surveys and Feedback: Now in One Spot
The Feedback screen is no longer its own section in the menu. It’s now a tab inside the Surveys screen.
Everything still works the same. You can still see all your survey responses, your score breakdown, and your overall loyalty rating.
A couple of things changed to make it easier to use:
- The filter options are now always visible on the right side of the screen. No extra clicking.
- Customer responses are no longer shown right in the list. Instead, there’s a “View Response” button. Click it to read what a customer wrote. This is especially helpful when you ask more than one question — it keeps the list clean and easy to read.
Customer Groups: Build Better Lists with Less Guesswork
Building a customer group just got much easier.
Instead of filling out a big form, you now use a step-by-step customer segment builder. It asks you simple questions, and your answers shapes what options come next. No more staring at filters that don’t apply to you.
Step 1: Who are you trying to reach?
- Customers — People who have already bought from you.
- Prospects — People who have shown interest but haven’t bought yet.
- Everyone — Both groups together.
Your next set of choices depends on which one you pick.
If you pick Customers, you can filter by:
- Customer category and status
- Tags on customer records
- Where they live — by state, ZIP code, or distance from your store (up to 100 miles)
- What they bought, when they bought it, and how much they spent
- Products or model numbers they’ve purchased
- Customers who haven’t completed a purchase lately — great for cross-sell promotions
- Deal status (brand new!) — find customers based on where they are in your sales pipeline
If you pick Prospects or Everyone, you get the same options — just without purchase history, since those folks may not have bought from you yet.
There’s also a new “My Groups” button at the top of the Customer Groups screen. Use it to see only the groups you created, instead of every group at your dealership.
Deals: Your Biggest Upgrade Yet
This one is a big deal.
The Deals screen has been completely rebuilt. You’re not losing anything — but you are getting a lot more. Many of these features came straight from requests we’ve heard from dealers like you. We listened, and here’s what we built.
On the Main Board
- Each column now shows the total dollar value of all deals in that stage, plus a deal count. You can see the health of your pipeline at a glance.
- There’s a “+” button at the bottom of each column to quickly add a new deal right there.
- Deals that have been open too long now show an orange stripe — still easy to spot, but less distracting than a fully red card.
- Favorite deals get a gold stripe in addition to the star.
- The new “My Deals” button lets salespeople see only the deals assigned to them — while still knowing there are others on the board. This is especially useful for web leads that haven’t been assigned to anyone yet.
When Creating a New Deal
Two new features here that dealers have been asking for:
- Add a product. You can now attach a product from your current inventory to the deal when you create it, or type in product details yourself. This can also be done inside an existing deal card.
- Attach a quote. Upload a PDF quote, or link directly to a quote from your DMS. No more digging through paperwork.
The Deal Card Now Has Tabs
Open any deal card and you’ll see it’s organized into tabs:
- Summary — Customer info, deal value, stage, source, pipeline, who it’s assigned to, and key dates. The activity timeline can now be collapsed to give you more room.
- Contacts — Related contacts on this deal.
- Quotes — Any quotes attached to this deal, whether uploaded or pulled from your DMS.
- Products — Any products linked to this deal. The deal value updates automatically when you add or change a product.
- Notes, Files, and Tasks — Same as before, just organized neatly in their own tabs.
